Everyone likes the good kinds of surprises, such as a present or an unexpected visit from a welcome guest..
How about bringing a DVD on your next road trip? Many minivans are equipped with them these days, and there's always the laptop version to rely upon. Perhaps some Nemo? Maybe some other flavor of Pixar?

Air travel is a sometimes necessary evil. Whether for adventure or obligation or a situation that becomes an adventure because of the obligation, there may be times when it is necessary to bring bebe or tyke on to a commercial aircraft. Almost nobody likes to do it, but it may be necessary to bring along bebe or toddler. Think about the logistics of the trip very carefullly before you go, but this doesn't mean not forgetting anything for bebe or toddler. It means leaving as much stuff at home as possible.

Flying with toddlers used to mean having to bring along a car seat that then needed to be strapped into an airplane seat. This had long been mandated by the FAA, and this mandate was a primary cause of the announcement about young children prior to boarding the flight. The announcement will still happen, and always will as long as there's an FAA. Thankfully, however, parents no longer need to install a car seat on an airplane.
